Guymon Community Theatre has reached two milestones –
completed 30 seasons and 100 regular season shows – with total volunteers.
Your financial support is vital to keeping the theatre in the “black”.
Besides play production costs, the lobby needs a new heating and air system and the back stage curtains are in bad shape.
Another project is to restore the historic neon sign on the marquee. We will be working with the Main Street program architect
for ideas on the sign project. There are funds established for the renovations.
The total Oklahoma Arts Council grant for 2008-2009 was $15,000. Hopefully the 2009-2010 grant will be about the same.
Our expenses last season were $47,643 and our revenue was $45,844, for a net loss of $1799. We paid $12,891 for insurance
and utilities last season. The budget for the upcoming year will be $45,000 due to rising costs of gas and electricity; therefore,
we depend heavily on patrons and audiences for financial support. GCT welcomes businesses as well as individuals to be patrons.
The 31st season for Guymon Community Theatre will include the musical Sweeney Todd directed by Michael Ask, Hooray for Justice
directed by Aaron Rios and the musical Seusical directed by Jerry Wadley.
There is a small group of dedicated volunteers who are working very hard to keep the theatre active. There is always room
for more directors, actors, artists, stage hands, and volunteers.
